We are working on behalf of a reputable private property investment business, interested in hiring a commercial property lawyer that has an interest in moving into the property industry and training them into an Asset Manager role. They would see the value of someone with a legal mind in this role. 

The business is looking for someone that can provide strategic direction to the Group’s portfolio, ensuring that value is enhanced, potential downside mitigated and consequently ensuring a stable and well managed property investment portfolio for the business, inclusive of the ultimate goal of providing best in class service to their tenant mix.

The Role

The purpose of the Asset Manager is to manage and administer a portfolio of high-quality property assets to ensure the optimal long-term performance through intelligent acquisitions, active development, asset maintenance, ensuring net rental return and capital growth are maximised, occupancy and lease terms are optimised, and the properties comply with all local body, government, and statutory requirements.

The role will involve:

• Managing a portfolio of office and retailed lease spaces
• Managing relationships with exisitng tenants in leased spaces
• Managing relationships with real estate agents
• Performing inspections with potential tenants
• Drafting lease documents - agreements to lease, deeds of lease etc
• Dealing with office and retail space fit outs and larger projects within the Auckland region. 

The Person

• 2+ year Commercial Property & Leasing knowledge and experience
• Experience gained in a reputable law firm / property team
• An interest in learning and developing a career in the commercial aspects of property matters utilising your legal background. 
• Strong interpersonal skills and commercial acumen
