Job description

This modern Auckland firm is requiring a talented and ambitious legal secretary with a background in property law to join the team. This practice does work in the areas of residential and commercial property transactions, leasing, subdivisions and financing work. 

About the Role:

In this role you'll be supporting a small team of fee earners, and involved from start to end on residential conveyancing files, have exposure to finance-related work, commercial leasing, business transactions, and the chance to develop your drafting skills. On a day to day you will be responsible for:
  • Opening and managing client files
  • Drafting, editing, and collating legal documents and commercial agreements
  • Preparing LINZ/ edealings, as well as other relevant documents for settlement agreements
  • Liaising with internal and external departments (banks, agents, Council etc)
  • Compiling month-end billing for authors
  • Diary and email management for the Partner

About You:
  • Minimum 2+ years as a legal secretary in a property team;
  • A proactive approach and have the 'get up and go' required to complete tasks quickly and make the lives of the team easier;
  • Learning fast on the job, with good I.T. systems skills - having experience in running files from start to finish will stand you in good stead in this role.
  • Can communicate well and work across authors with different working styles
